I’m not fond of the big rectangular ones that comes with the Zeta 2.0 and co. I like the base it comes with because it’s simple, space saving, and gets the job done. The rubber feathers definitely add to the “angel wing” feel when its resting on the floor. While the HG counterpart needs additional pieces to “expand” the rear wings, the MG model actually have all the parts slide inside the outer parts and stays hidden while the front/side wings are now able to expan itself in three different segments. The whole model has this “pulled back” look which I like since it adds to the effect of the action pose. As with the HG model, the MG also retains a long neck but slightly less noticeable. The way the legs are designed and styled seems like it’s better suited for “feminine” poses (which I find true). The model can pose elegantly but nothing drastic. As expected, it’s also a back-heavy model but the wings will be able to support it so its okay. A quirk is that the Search Orb on its chest is a foil sticker instead of a gem like the HG model and it looks a bit cheap with the clear plastic in front of it.Īs for the completed model itself, you will probably want to put more effort into cleaning off the spots that were connected to the runners because they are an eye-sore in plain sight (you can even see them in the pictures). I didn’t do it because I think all the grey lines would make the wings look weird and I wanted the “pure/angelic” look so I left it plain white. Panel lining the wings is a matter of taste preference in this model. It’s a really a great design of engineering. The angel wing assembly is nothing hard either just follow the lines properly and you won’t end up with wrong overlapping or sliding pieces as that is what the entire assembly is based on. This Gundam is particularly slender and small in every dimension, making this a small model overall without the wings. Nothing particularly difficult to take note of. The highlight of this model is the angel wings assembly and everything else is easy MG inside-to-outside work. I bought this model to replace my aging HG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero Custom Special Operations Type. Dream came true in 2004 but not as perfect as I’ve thought it would be. When taken all together I really feel like this is the best gunpla I’ve ever made.Back when there was only the HG 1/100 Wing Gundam models, I’ve always wished for a MG version. I used a glossy finish for the majority of the kit but used a matte finish for the steel white parts to create more variation in the finished prodcut. It was difficult but worth all of the effort! Thanks to and their excellent guide on twitter, I was able to achieve what you see in the pictures. Making the void was a process of putting down a glossy black base and then spraying 3 different metallic paints over it to create a kind of space/void look. The hardest part of this build was figuring out how to do the sky underneath the wings. This was the first time I’ve ever used a custom panel line wash and I’m happy that I did it. That’s when I made the choice to take it back apart to add more gold accents to the right leg and to panel line it with Testors gold eamel paint. When I first put the kit together after painting it the model felt like it was missing a little something. Sections on the chest and shoulders that were painted with Gaia purple and NAZCA frost mat black had white added to them for added depth. The gold stings on the chest and waist bring elegance. I had to mask off a lot of different sections on the chest and skirt pieces to paint the gold accents (using Gaia’s bright gold). Trying to bring all of these elements to the model kit presented a lot of challenges in terms of color choice and distribution. On the underside of her black hair, you can see the void of space and a few stars. Bright red stings accentuate the pale gold and skull jewerly which also hold orbs of purple crystalized darkness. She wears a gold glove on her left hand but only a bangle on her right arm and has a black and gold sash draped across her body. She has pale skin but wears a dark purple robe. Nyx’s design in Hades has a lot of juxtaposition. I was playing a lot of Hades in the months leading up to the release of the kit - my plans changed from doing something like the Wing Zero Rebellion to making it a mobile suit invoking the essence of ‘Mother Night’. The inspiration for this model came from Supergiant Game’s depiction of the greek goddess, Nyx.
